Learning in the L!brary
Our Learning in the L!brary program begins in mid-October and ends in early May. The program is designed for independent, motivated learners in grades 3-5.
Our L!brary has many hands-on enrichment activities and resources, including a 3D printer, LEGOS, robots and puzzles. We begin each year with The Ezra Jack Keats (EJK) Book Making Competition. The EJK Bookmaking Competition is one of the NYC/Department of Education's most successful programs. It has inspired thousands of students to take pride in their reading and writing by showing them, they can actually enjoy improving their literacy skills. You can learn more about the competition at https://www.ejkf.org/2023-ejk-bookmaking-competition/.
To be successful in this competition and other activities, it is very important that students attend weekly. This is a great opportunity for your child to work in small groups, work with new technology, and of course spend more time with our wonderful books! Any child who is attending the St. Nick’s After School Program may attend the L!brary program without losing the St. Nick’s spot. See you in the L!brary!
